Unlike Wispr Flow ($15/mo, cloud) and the built-in Win+H (sends voice to Microsoft Cloud), AuroraWhisp performs recognition fully locally — on the user's computer, with no internet or cloud services. It supports 15 recognition languages (English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Czech, Turkish, Russian, Ukrainian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese) with auto-detect mode. On a 5-second phrase the recognition latency is around 150 ms on CPU without GPU (Sherpa Zipformer model for English). Business model: a free tier with a 10,000-recognised-words-per-day cap stays free forever; a Pro licence at $19.90 once removes the cap, unlocks heavy Whisper Medium / Large-v3 models and works on 3 devices simultaneously.
