AuroraWhisp is built by a small team. We use the product ourselves every day — that is its best guarantee.
Why we are doing this
Voice is faster than typing. Everyone knows that. But a convenient alternative for Windows that understood Russian as well as iPhone Dictation understands English did not exist. The paid ones were cloud-based, the free ones were poor. We got tired of waiting and built our own. No cloud. No subscriptions. With proper Russian.
Principles — what we will always do
1. Recognition on the user's computer. Voice is the most personal thing a person has after passwords. We do not get it. 2. No accounts, no signup. Download .exe — run — works. 3. No subscriptions on principle. Pro — once, for life. 4. Open about limitations: 15 languages (not "99"), three exceptions to network activity (see /security), exe not yet signed with an Authenticode certificate. 5. Respect for the accessibility audience — not as marketing, but as daily work.
Principles — what we will never do
We will not sell user data. We will not train models on user voice. We will not switch to a subscription model — even if it is easier to monetise. We will not include ads. We will not promise features that do not exist for the sake of conversion: if the site says "works", it works; if "coming soon", it might not ship, and we will admit it.
Business model and what happens if we disappear
We earn from one-time Pro purchases at $19.90. The Free tier (10,000 words/day, all 15 languages) stays free forever — that is how we let you try the product without risk. If we stop releasing updates or close the company, the app keeps working offline as long as Windows runs: the licence is verified locally, no cloud dependency. Pro features will not break. That is the meaning of "buy once — yours forever".
Team
The founder and author of the code builds the app solo. All emails are read personally — no support department, no ticketing system.
